Where to get a mammogram when you are under the age of 40

Question: I had used your services in the past. You referred me to a nonprofit organization Cleveland area for breast cancer screening. I have a Friend in need of finding this organization. Her 42 yr old Mother was diagnosed and operated on today for breast cancer. My friend has not have insurance and I encourage her to get a Mammogram. What is the name of the organization?

Answer:  Unfortunately, most organizations only offer free breast screening for women 40 years and older.  However, the Susan G. Komen Foundation does offer assistance to women 40 years and younger.  Please contact Gina Chicotel (216) 292-2873 extension 112 for more information.   In addition, the Cleveland Clinic or the University Hospital Systems network are also options.  They both offer financial assistance and may possibly recommend a genetics counselor.
