Can the morning after pill trick a pregnancy test?

“I had unprotected sex April 17th, he pulled out but i was still nervous so i took the morning after pill on the 20th, its now been 24 days since ive taken the pill and i still havent got my period. I took 2 pregnancy tests and they both came up positive is there anything in that pill that would trick the test or am i pregnant???? Please answer”

A: The morning after pill does not contain anything that would trick a pregnancy test. It may, however, delay your period from starting. Since both pregnancy tests you took came up positive, I suggest contacting your reproductive health care provider or Family Planning to make an appointment for a pregnancy test which will confirm whether or not you are pregnant. The morning after pill is not 100% effective at preventing a pregnancy. Always remember to use protection correctly and every time you have sex to greatly reduce your risk of an unintended pregnancy.
