Pregnancy test?

“My friend had sex without a condom and the guy came inside of her. She took the pill a day or 2 later but she is still almost two weeks late with her period. Do you have any way to test if she is pregnant? We are both in college and dont have a lot of money to pay for an at-home test, otherwise I would help her buy one. We just need to know so she can decide if she needs an abortion and so forth. Thanks.”

A: Yes, Family Planning does provide pregnancy testing. If interested, call and make an appointment.

Possibility of pregnancy?

“I have a regular 28 day cycle. My last period was 22 August which was early buy 4 days. My bf and i had unprotecte sex on the 4 sept. He pulled out before he came. Is there a possibility that i’m pregnant???”

A: Whenever someone is having sex without a condom and is not on any other hormone method of birth control, there is always a risk for pregnancy. Withdrawal is not an effective form of birth control. If you miss your next period, you should take a pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant. In the meantime, use condoms to prevent pregnancy and infection and you may want to consider consulting a physician about a hormone method of birth control that is right for you.

Negative pregnancy tests

“took to pregnancy tests and they were negitive. and i’m 3 weeks late for my period. i’ve have been feeling sleepy, frequent head aches, cramping as if i has on my period, have to pee all the time but hardle peeing, back aches and once in awhile nausea. am i pregnant ?”

A: If the tests were negative and the directions were carefully followed, then the tests are most likely accurate. However, your problems with urination do indicate the possibility of an infection, so it would be advisable to make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.

I’m still a virgin, could I be pregnant?

“I’m 16 and still a virgin. I haven’t had my period for a while. the last time i had it, it lasted a really long time and ran into sept. i didnt have one for sept either. and now its october and im worried. could i be pregnant by precum from my boyfriend if he rubbed his thing on mine but never put it in or directed it toward that way? he never actually came either until later when i gave him a blow job. we dont normally do those things either but now im worried i shouldnt. we did this on aug 25. so i dont know if thats the reason i havent had my period or because of my last period that lasted for a strange about of time. I’m i pregnant or could there be another reason for my missed period?”

A: “Pre-cum or pre-ejaculate may or may not contain sperm, therefore, there is a chance that a pregnancy may occur. A missed period is a common sign that a woman could be pregnant. If you think you could be pregnant contact a reproductive health care provider in your area for a pregnancy test or take an over the counter pregnancy test. If your test is negative, you may want to make an appointment with your health care provider to discuss why you are having abnormal periods.

Unprotected sex of any kind-oral, vaginal or anal-can cause sexually transmitted infections. It is always a good idea to use condoms the right way every time a person engages in any kind of sexual activity to reduce your risk of contracting a sexually transmitted infection.”

I haven’t gotten my period this month

“I haven’t gotten my period this month, I took a EPT test a week ago and it came back negative. Is there something wrong? Should I be worried or is that making the situation worse?”

A: “If you have had unprotected sex, it is possible that you could be pregnant. Since your home test was negative, make an appointment with your reproductive health care provider or Family Planning to take a more accurate test.”

I am on birth control, can I still become pregnant?
