Northeast While funding from a number of federal, state, and local sources, along with patient fees, provide a significant portion of our revenue, these funds are not sufficient to enable us to meet the demand for our services. This is especially true as public funds either decrease or remain level, at best, while the costs of providing services continue to increase. We rely on private donors like you to help us continue our current programs, as well as develop new ones. We know that 75% of our clients live at or below the poverty level, and we believe that everyone is entitled to compassionate, confidential care. So we serve people regardless of their income or ability to pay. Fees are assessed on a sliding scale, and clients are encouraged to contribute whatever they can to help pay for their birth control methods and the services we provide. However, we recognize that for some people, parting with even a few dollars is unrealistic, if not impossible. No one is ever turned away because of an inability to pay. Think about what would happen if the FPANEO had to charge full price for its services. Imagine what would happen if the FPANEO had to close. What would become of the pregnant women without private medical insurance who depend on us for quality prenatal care? What would become of the women who visit our clinics for breast and cervical cancer screenings? What would become of those who need private, affordable treatment for reproductive health problems? What would become of the young people in need of a reliable, accurate source of information? What would become of the people who don’t have the money for safe, effective birth control methods?
