-Mission Statement
of the FPANEO
“We
respect your reproductive and lifestyle choices and take pride
in providing our services in a friendly,
compassionate,
and confidential manner.”
-Our Pledge To Patients
The Family Planning
Association of Northeast Ohio, Inc. (FPANEO) was established in
1970 to provide the community with medical services, counseling,
and education related to reproductive health. We have clinic sites located in Lake and Ashtabula counties. The FPANEO has
served over 60,000 men and women, and has always done so regardless
of a client’s income or ability to pay.
Although birth control services were among the
first provided by the FPANEO, we have added many others over
the years. We provide
screening for breast and cervical cancer, testing for and treatment
of Sexually Transmitted Infections, pregnancy testing, counseling,
gynecological care, prenatal care, and a men’s health clinic.
Our educators provide programs and workshops to local people in
schools, jails, detention centers, and other organizations.
Clinics are
held throughout the week, and we offer daytime, evening, and
Saturday appointments. Our services are provided on a
sliding fee scale based on family size and income.
The FPANEO is supported primarily by federal, state and local grant dollars and by patient fees and donations, public and private insurance and private donations.
The FPANEO works to collaborate with other agencies
in the tri-county area to provide the broadest possible range of
care.

histories, perform blood draws, and obtain vital patient information
(height, weight, blood pressure, etc.).

perform exams and testing, diagnose and explain medical conditions,
and
provide medical advice.

director is Board-certified in Ob/Gyn practice and provides consultation,
sees complicated
patients on-site, creates protocols, and establishes policies
to direct practice for the nurse practitioners.
- Social workers
are qualified to offer pregnancy options counseling, related services,
and support on other issues related to reproductive health.
- The education
staff provides services both in and out
of our clinics. In the clinic setting, educators provide
services like new-patient orientations.
- Outside of
our offices, at schools,
detention facilities, workplaces, and community centers,
the education staff provides workshops to young people
and adults on a range of reproductive health topics.
- Our trained
medical
interpreters help our Spanish-speaking patients
by translating
during appointments.
- Administrators
provide the behind-the-scenes services that help keep the Family
Planning Association
running. They write grant proposals, oversee the budget,
provide services
to the rest of the staff, represent the organization
at meetings, serve on committees, and supervise other staff
members.
Everyone that works at and is affiliated with the Family Planning Association is committed to providing quality care, accurate information, compassionate support, and completely confidential services.
